Berklee College of Music’s Ninth Annual Encore Gala will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2003, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The festivities include a cocktail reception, candlelight dinner, special entertainment, silent auction and the Gala party. SRS Labs is hitting the road in cities across the country as part of the “Multichannel Mixing and Encoding Techniques Seminar Tour,” which is a hands-on, real-time seminar on how to edit, create, encode and playback surround sound music using SRS Circle Surround technology. Dates include: October, Northeast region (Boston, Baltimore, Washington D.C., New York City); November through December, Midwest region (Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota); January, Texas and Oklahoma; February: Southeast region (Nashville, Atlanta, Miami); February through March, West Coast region (Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles); and April through May, Mountains States region (Denver, Boulder, Salt Lake City, Provo). SignaSys Inc. announced that staffer Jim Boston launched a coast-to-coast road tour titled “TV Town Hall” this October that will visit more than 30 cities in the Northern U.S. during the first leg of the tour. The tour begins in Redding, Calif., and ends in Albany, N.Y. in late November. “TV Town Hall” will provide a forum for engineering and management staff to share their views on topics facing broadcasters today, as well as what’s next in the future of broadcasting.
