Allen & Heath has released a new software suite comprising new firmware and Mac configuration utility software for its Xone:3D mixer/controller. The updated utility software provides an improved interface for Mac users that is identical to the PC version.
The firmware release, Version 1.10, also includes a MIDI merge facility that enables MIDI data from external devices to be combined with the MIDI data from the Xone:3D control surface and routed to the software via USB. The new firmware also includes full MIDI duplex, which enables MIDI data generated by the software to be sent via USB through the Xone:3D’s MIDI Out port to an external MIDI device, such as a sequencer or sound module.
MIDI Time Clock can now be generated internally in the Xone:3D unit or by an external device, with the 3-D clock turned off. This feature enables multiple DJ set-ups to synchronize to a common MIDI clock. The update also offers an improved tolerance to USB clock jitter.
