Genelec 8030A, part of the 8030.LSE PowerPak
At AES 2004, Genelec launched the 8030.LSE PowerPak™ system (MSRP: $4,600), a multichannel monitoring system designed for post-production suites and recording studios with control rooms measuring up to 3,000 cubic feet (HxWxD).
The 8030.LSE PowerPak system comprises five Genelec 8030A two-way, bi-amplified active monitors, one Genelec 7060A LSE™ Series Active Subwoofer and a Genelec Acousti/Tape™ frequency/wavelength measuring tape. In addition, a Genelec 8030.LSE PowerPak setup guide is included for accurate speaker placement, wiring and fine-tuning.
The Genelec LSE 7060A features a single 10-inch proprietary driver with 120-watt power amplifier, a frequency response of 29 to 85 Hz (120 Hz), +/-3 dB, and can deliver SPLs of 108 dB at 1 meter. The 7060A boasts Genelec’s 6.1 bass-management system, which has six signal input and output channels (L/C/R front and L/C/R rear), as well as a discrete LFE signal input with a selectable 85/120Hz lowpass filter and a summed signal output.
The PowerPak system also includes five of Genelec’s new 8030A two-way, bi-amplified active monitors, which incorporate an aluminum MDE design with integrated Advanced Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™).
The 8030A is a compact close-field system powered by a pair of 40-watt amplifiers and offers a frequency response of 58 to 20k Hz (+/-2 dB) from a 5-inch bass driver and 3/4-inch hard-domed tweeter.
Also included with each 8030A monitor is the Genelec Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™), a mounting stand that allows for monitoring in either vertical or horizontal orientation.
