Hugh Bennett Productions, based in Nashville, Tenn., provides live sound reinforcement, staging, lighting, video and general event production services, specializing in corporate events. The company’s inventory includes WorxAudio Technologies’ TrueLine Series V8 touring line arrays (16 units) and eight TL215S sub bass enclosures.
WorxAudio’s TrueLine Series offers wide dispersion patterns for broad coverage and compact designs that are built for efficient transportation of multiple units. According to operations manager Michael Allen (pictured), “The V8 has a very compact form factor and, for those of us who have to move and set up the equipment, this makes the in and out process considerably easier. The system goes up fast, and the rigging hardware is excellent. Overall, the system couldn’t be easier to set up and use.”
When discussing system costs, Allen stressed the need to be cognizant of both sound quality and the ability to run a profitable operation. “When you enter pro audio as a business,” he says, “you better be prepared for some pretty serious cash outlay. There’s a tremendous amount of good product out there nowadays, and system price doesn’t always factor into the equation the way one might expect.
“Since we don’t necessarily have to meet the specific product demands of a production rider for the type of events we handle,” Allen continues, “I find I can place our TrueLine system, get it operational, and when people step in front of it, they’re always very impressed with the sound quality and coverage. So for us—and this is important to any properly-run business—we find the WorxAudio V8 and TL215S offer excellent return on investment.”
