Santa Fe Springs, CA (October 21, 2026)—Regular announcements are almost always necessary in public environments, be they retail facilities, theme parks, transportation hubs or something else. Intended to provide automated audio playback for those sites is Tascam’s latest product, the AP-10, a compact 2-Channel Announcement SD Player with external control.
The AP-10 supports GPIO and LAN-based Open Sound Control (OSC) and can integrate with a variety of external control systems, sensors, timers, signage and other equipment to trigger and automate audio playback.
Five playback modes—Direct, Single, Interval, Binary, and Program—are available to address a variety of uses. Binary playback supports up to 250 audio files, making the AP-10 suitable for multilingual guidance, zone-specific announcements and large-scale messaging systems. Program playback allows audio to be triggered in a preset sequence for applications such as exhibition tours, work-procedure guidance, and scenario-based presentations. All modes allow audio to be triggered automatically through external devices, while manual start and stop functions are workable from the face of the main unit.
The Tascam Playlist Editor software allows users to create and edit playlists even when offline. Each audio file can be configured with numerous settings including volume, playback intervals, trigger start delay, fade times and more. The AP-10 also supports remote control from tablets or PCs through OSC, allowing users to build and customize control surfaces with tools such as Touch OSC which enables integration with video and lighting equipment.
Built within a 1U half rack form factor, the AP-10 includes a protected SD card cover, Euroblock cable holder, and panel lock.
The unit is available for pre-order from Tascam, running $629.
