Roland SH-201 Synthesizer Now Supports Apple’s Audio Units Format

Roland announces extensive editor and driver updates for its SH-201 synthesizer. SH-201 Editor Version 1.10 software for Mac OS X, Roland’s latest version of the SH-201’s editor/librarian, is now available as a download from Roland’s Website. The install contains stand-alone, VSTi and Audio Units versions. The Version 1.10 USB driver for Mac OS X is also available, adding support for Intel-based Macs.

“We’re now offering our SH-201 users support for the Apple Audio Units plug-in format,” says Roland product manager Vince LaDuca. “This new feature allows the SH-201 editor to be accessed from within Logic, Digital Performer, Live, GarageBand, and other Audio Units-compatible DAWs.

“Additionally, the SH-201 driver has also been updated to support the new Intel-based Macintosh computers. This adds the SH-201 to the ever-growing list of over 50 Roland products that have Universal Binary support. In addition to these extensive updates, Roland is also offering a collection of patches for the SH-201 from a global roster of artists.”

Both Windows XP/2000 and Mac OS X installs contain custom patches from Jean Michel Jarre, Jordan Rudess, Richard Barbieri and Hisashi Saito.

Version 1.01 of the SH-201 USB driver for connecting the SH-201 to PCs running Windows XP or 2000 is also available, along with SH-201 Editor Version 1.10 for Windows XP/2000 operating systems.
