Sonifex and Sound Broadcast Services (SBS) announced in a joint statement that Sonifex has purchased SBS’s IT range and Flexrack range of audio products.
“SBS’s audio product range was started at the same time as our popular Redbox range and while some of their products compete with our existing products, they clearly have a proven history of sales to customers that aren’t buying Redboxes,” said Marcus Brooke, managing director of Sonifex. “We’re basically buying into a larger share of this market. We’re distributing the products worldwide under the ProAVM brand—Professional Audio, Video and Media. The existing prices, products and distributor network will be retained, so there should be no worries for existing customers.”
“We decided to streamline our operation and focus in on our core business of broadcast transmission products and services,” said SBS CEO Pyers Easton. “SBS will continue to concentrate on FM and our expansion into new ‘on topic’ areas such as DAB, DVBT and DRM.”
