Best Commercial Spot Goes to Memphis Music Foundation Commercial
Memphis’ renowned Ardent Studios is proud to announce that Jonathan Pekar, Ardent Film Department Director, has won the 27th MidSouth Emmy Award for Best Commercial Spot for creating the animated Memphis Music Foundation commercial.

Pekar commented, “I’m stoked to be a part of the entertainment scene in Memphis. The intense level of creativity that goes on here is inspiring.” The winning commercial also showcases the talents of painter Lamar Sorrento and singer/songwriter Keia Johnson. Pekar is presently developing a new television series called “Kids of Memphis,” set to air in November, 2013.
Midsouth Emmy Awards are a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The Nashville, Tennessee division was founded in 1984. In addition to granting the Midsouth Emmy Awards, this division awards scholarships, honors industry veterans at the Silver Circle Celebration, conducts National Student Television Awards of Excellence, has a free research and nationwide job bank. The chapter also participates in judging Emmy entries at the regional and national levels.
