Dangerous Music, Mercury Recording Equipment, Mike Wells Mastering Host Events during AES

AES Event at Hyde Street Studios

Edmeston, NY — Nov 1, 2010 — Dangerous Music, Mercury Recording Equipment Co., and Mike Wells Mastering will be hosting a one night ‘Special Event’, Saturday, November 6th at San Francisco’s historic Hyde Street Studios. The event will follow the 129th AES convention from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at Hyde St. Studios, located at 245 Hyde St., in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco.

Like most parties, there will be Food, drinks and a few Give-a-ways… But the focus will be more on the Professional Engineers demonstrating Recording, Mixing & Mastering Techniques with World-Class Recording Equipment in a Historic Recording Studio. Not your average AES party IV, the fourth event held at Hyde Street Studios and hosted by David Marquette of Mercury Recording Equipment and friends when the AES convention is in

Northern California’s beautiful city by the bay.

Doors will be open at 7:00pm, on Saturday, there will be several seminars taking place in the multi-room facility. In Hyde Street Studio’s – Studio A, David Marquette and Mercury Recording Equipment Co. (Booth #635) will host events featuring their full line of Studio Equipment, with a little help from friends who use it. At 8pm, Mercury is proud to have Special Guest, Grammy Award Winning Engineer, Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, The Shins, Beck, U2, Young The Giant) who will be giving an in depth Mixing Seminar using some recent tracks and putting the Mercury EQH1, EQP1 and Mercury 66 through their paces. At 9:30, Producer Chris Karn (Deccatree, Tyrone Wells, Rocco DeLuca), Engineer Gabriel Sheppard and artist Chris Hanlin will record acoustic guitar and vocals live to give us a chance to A/B Mercury’s Studio Microphone Amplifiers in studio session environment. Tracks are going to be used on Hanlin’s upcoming solo project.

Dangerous Music (booth #1114) will host Mastering and Mixing Seminars at Mike Wells Mastering, located across the hall from Studio A. At 7:30 pm Mastering engineer Mike Wells (STS9, The Mother Hips, Billy Griffin) will showcase the Dangerous Music line of mastering gear, including the new BAX EQ, in a live Mastering Session. At 9:00 pm NY producer/engineer Fab Dupont (Marc Anthony, Nat King Cole, Shakira) will demo Analog Summing and Hybrid Mixing techniques with the Dangerous D-Box and Pro Tools LE. Mike, Fab and Bob Muller from Dangerous will have open Q & A before and after each seminar, so come, listen and bring your questions!

Hyde Street Studios is celebrating their 30th Anniversary of operating Studios A & D, in their world class, multi-room, studio facility. Present owner, Michael Ward has hosted artists such as Green Day, Tupac Shakur, Chris Isaak, Cake and George Clinton since 1980. But the building’s recording history dates back to the late 1960’s. Artists of that era such as: Santana, CCR, Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane recorded at the Studio, then owned by Wally Heider, a true pioneer of the recording industry.
