P&E Wing Panel Set For Mix Nashville

Mixing in the box is something most sessions involve to some degree in today’s DAW-centric studio environment. When to go outside the box is the discussion topic for three of Nashville’s most sought after mixing engineers in the session, in the studio, with a full band playing off one another, will be the topic of the session, “In the Box or Off the Rack? Mixing in a Hybrid Digital/Analog World.” This special event, presented by The Recording Academy’s Producers and Engineers Wing, Nashville Chapter, is part of the day-long Mix Nashville event to be held on August 29.

Nashville, TN (August 11, 2015)—Mixing in the box is something most sessions involve to some degree in today’s DAW-centric studio environment.

The moderator and co-panelist is F. Reid Shippen (Studio Owner, Producer/Engineer—Death Cab for Cutie, India.Arie, Marc Broussard, Eric Church, Robert Randolph, Johnny Lang, Third Day). Joining Reid is Jeff Balding (Producer/Engineer—Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, Don Henley, Megadeth, Blake Shelton) and Jaquire King (Producer/Engineer—Kings of Leon, Norah Jones, Buddy Guy, Of Monsters and Men, Dawes, Punch Brothers, Modest Mouse, Mutemath). If all the gold and platinum amassed by these talented engineers were gathered on stage with them, the stage would collapse.

Mix Nashville 2015 is a production of Mix magazine in conjunction with sister title Pro Sound News and with the AES Nashville Section (producers of the Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo events series), to bring a unique local slant to a global recording industry. Mix Nashville will take place at the newly refurbished facilities of global touring giant Clair Southeast and the brand new stages and production rooms of The Blackbird Academy. In addition to the main stage program content, manufacturer presented master classes and product demos will run throughout the day.

The full Mix Nashville program, bios of the presenters, exhibitor lists and registration details can be found at the event website.
