Ex’pression Offers Its Second $10,000 Game Audio Scholarship

The Ex’pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, Calif. announced the launch of its second $10,000 scholarship for members of the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) toward a Bachelor of Applied Science degree program for game audio studies. Scholarship applications will be accepted until February 28, 2007. A joint panel of Ex’pression College faculty members and G.A.N.G. officers will select the winning candidate and present the scholarship in March at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Calif.

Submissions will be judged based on responses to essay questions, the quality and integrity of the submitted audio file, and financial need.

“The partnership with Ex’pression College for Digital Arts advances our mission by providing scholarships and professional development opportunities to every level of our membership,” says Paul Lipson, senior director of G.A.N.G. “We are proud of our Fall winner, Ivo Ivanov, and we look forward to awarding this second scholarship to another deserving G.A.N.G. member with outstanding talent.”

“The more than $15 billion gaming industry continues to grow significantly year after year,” says Spencer Nilsen, president and creative director of Ex’pression College. “Ex’pression and G.A.N.G. share a strong commitment to educate the next wave of talent through a variety of professional development opportunities, including these scholarships. We look forward to expanding our initiatives with G.A.N.G. for the next generation of game audio professionals.”
